About
Alister D’Monte (he/him) is an events coordinator for Data-Smart City Solutions at the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University, where he supports convenings that bring together mayors, city leaders, and practitioners to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and tackle shared challenges. His broader work sits at the intersection of education, workforce development, and research, with a focus on expanding pathways to economic mobility. He is particularly interested in how data, policy, and institutions can strengthen education-to-workforce pathways and help break cycles of intergenerational poverty.Before joining the Data-Smart team, Alister was a research fellow at Boston University and worked with the monitoring, evaluation, and learning team at Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child. He also founded and led Unherd.in, an education social enterprise in India for eight years, connecting more than 2,200 students across 70+ schools with corporations and industry professionals and expanding access to career exploration and mentorship.
Alister holds a master’s degree in human development and education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering from the University of Pune.
In his free time, Alister enjoys reviewing movies, practicing his German, and searching for the best coffee and cake in town. He hasn’t found one in Boston yet, but he remains hopeful.
