About

Rod Glover was Chief Executive Officer and Academic Director of the McKinnon Institute for Political Leadership, a globally unique, non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation established to strengthen the quality of political leadership in Australia. Among his advanced students are 24 ministers and 32 shadow ministers, and the Institute has trained more than half of Australia’s federal and state parliamentarians. Rod’s interest is in supporting governments and leaders to navigate this new era of complexity, uncertainty and polarisation.

Rod’s career has spanned public policy, political leadership and institutional reform. He has held numerous influential roles, including Senior Adviser to an Australian Prime Minister, Deputy Secretary in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Professor of Policy and Impact at Monash University. He has served on several public-purpose boards, including as Chair of the educational charity Hands on Learning Australia. His passions are public capability, innovation, education and social cohesion. Rod loves ideas, travel, sport and living by the water.
